GPRS
GPRS, as an extension of GSM second generation, provides each user with short connection times, virtual connections and data transfer speed up to 115Kbits/s although band width can be shared by more than one user.
This great capacity of band width is possible thanks to use of multiplexing technologies and a combination up to 8 slots of time portion in the radio interface where data travel gathered in packets. GPRS is based on a modulation technique known as Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying (GSMK) which makes a better use of transmission channel width.
Each GPRS terminal has its own IP address and can be managed by another device.
GPRS technology offers special and genuine features such as speed, immediacy, and the possibility of creating new applications and improving the former ones.
